Too much, too soon?

June 20, 2008

I have to admit it – I’ve been kinda going full throttle since I finished up my school work – M and I love to get out and do things, so we’re reverting to our old ways of cramming in as many activities into a week as possible.  It’s been good, but I’ve got a admit, I’m a little tired this week.

Last night I got a preview of The Superreal Life by QPT.  I wasn’t supposed to be able to go, but our ultimate team didn’t have enough people to play this week, so we had to forfeit.  Instead of staying home, I did what was good for me – I went to see the show.  It was fun to be there on opening night, plus I got to take on my favourite role of “raffle girl”.  We made an extra bit of cash for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, so it’s well worth being put to work.

The show was fun – we’ve got tickets for tonight – M, Danielle and I.  Unfortunately Dave bailed so he could go prepare the cottage for next weekend.  We’ll miss him, but in the end, it’ll all be good.

Now all I have to do is get through this super busy work day!

Queen’s Players Toronto presents “The Super Real Life”

April 29, 2008

This is a post that is written for shear publicity. And I’m totally ok with that.

Queen’s Players Toronto is at it again. We’ve come up with a super hilarious new show idea and so far have a stellar cast and production team. The board members are awesome too! (Yes, I am one!)

This years show is called “The Super Real Life” and the tickets went on sale yesterday. It’s going to be awesome. We sold out super early last year for Grey’s Entourage, so if you’re in, get your tickets ASAP.

A good dose of bad medicine

June 25, 2007

So, it’s over and done with. Grey’s Entourage has hit the stage, left a few splinters and decended into a memory of singing, dancing and drunken debauchery. All I can say is that it was a blast. Truly. I got to work with some fantastic people who brought their shit night after night to make this a revolutionary show! And the production team was so awesome – we did all we could to think outside of the Players formula and we learned a lot! I am so proud of everyone!

And on top of that we broke some serious records:
1. The most auditions to sign up for any QPT show – EVER! All 2 weeks before hand!
2. We sold out the show entirely in record time – 10 days before the show even started!
3. We had a record challenging raffle with everything from chocolate to airmiles.

Seriously. This was so awesome.

Seriously.

A life gets a little more complicated…and busy.

February 21, 2007

Life is really good this week. I’m happy. I’ve been spending a good chunk of time feeling super productive and the other half spent with a stupid grin on my face. Oh well. That’s never a bad thing.

So, what’s making life so different?

1) Making some commitments – to God, to love, to many things. But I’m committing even more to being a Godly woman. And He’s rewarding that! Woo!

2) Co-creating some potential projects – I’m not going into great detail yet, but there are a few ideas on the horizon! It’s gonna be really cool.

3) Directing the next QPT show – Grey’s Entourage. Hollywood’s Been Hospitalized. The show is going up in June. The auditions are in April. Come one come all!
Check it:

4) Some potential music – with my friend Shawn. March 24th. Keep this open!

Wow. That’s a lot.

I’ll keep you posted.

The OCSI: Toronto

April 3, 2006

Queen’s Players Toronto is at it again. They’ve got a new show on the books, and it’s shaping up to be one heck of a good time yet again. (And of course, with the added bonus of things being for charity).

This weekend I was very lucky to get a previous of the script, which is still in progress, and give some input on how things were progressing. The funniest part of the whole experience was that, well, I happen to be a HUGE CSI fan, and during the it’s first season, I also watched The OC religiously. It seemed that I was pretty much the only one who knew all the characters, and it was rather funny…

I clearly watch entirely too much TV.

p.s. QPT are holding auditions for the show – details are on the website (see above link).
